Photoluminescence of well-aligned ZnO doped CeO2 nanoplatelets by a solvothermal route
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract The nanocrystalline ZnO:CeO 2 nanoplatelets have been prepared by solvothermal route synthesis and the materials are annealed at 450 oC. The overall architectural change of crystal structure of pure and doped materials are analyzed by corresponding XRD patterns. From the XRD results, it is clear that the parent cubic structure is sustained during the formation of nanomaterial. In the case PL analysis it is found that, the PL spectrum is very much blue shifted which is purely due to the doping of ZnO on CeO 2 . The morphological investigation and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis of ZnO doped CeO 2 nanomaterials are characterized by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Sensing studies confirmed that the compounds were made up of CeO 2 and ZnO bonds which implied that the prepared compounds are composed by CeO 2 and ZnO. Further room temperature sensing properties were also investigated.
