Amorphous porous germanium anode with variable dimension for lithium ion batteries
Source abstract
Abstract
Amorphous germanium has good adsorption ability and large specific surface area. Amorphous two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) germanium with loose and porous structure were prepared by polystyrene template-assited ionic liquid electrodeposition, which were used as anode material in lithium batteries. The 2D porous germanium electrode has an initial discharge capacity of 1380 mAh.g−1, and the discharge capacity remains 731 mAh.g−1 after 50 cycles. The 3D porous germanium electrode has an initial discharge capacity of 1192 mAh.g−1, and the discharge capacity remains 919 mAh.g−1 after 50 cycles. The amorphous 3D porous germanium is superior to 2D porous Ge in charge transfer in lithium batteries.
