EXCESSIVE STRAND END SLIP IN PRESTRESSED PILES. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

Paul H. Kaar

Abstract

A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by M.F. Petrou et al., published in this journal (Volume 97, Number 5, September-October 2000), is presented. The discusser considers whether an experience with a reel of 3/8 diameter strand, that would not bond to concrete in experiments being conducted on the strand bond transfer length of prestressed concrete members, might relate to test results obtained by the original authors in their research. Closure relating to this question is provided.
