CONFINEMENT OF HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE WITH WELDED WIRE REINFORCEMENT. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
Source abstract
Abstract
A discussion of an earlier paper with aforementioned title by N. Lambert-Aikhionbare and S.W. Tabsh, published in this journal (Volume 98, Number 5, September-October 2001), is presented. The discusser raises a question relative to one statement by authors in which they posit, the constructability of columns transversely reinforced with 2-D welded wire reinforcement grids may not be a difficult task. The discusser states that it would be interesting to know if authors attempted to cast full-size columns, particularly columns in order of 2.5-3.0 m long, in a vertical position to confirm validity of their statement. In closure, authors respond to discusser's point.
