SEISMIC PERFORMANCE AND RETROFIT OF STEEL PILE TO CONCRETE CAP CONNECTIONS. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE

A discussion of an earlier paper with the aforementioned title by A.A. Shama, J.B. Mander et al., published in this journal (Volume 99, Number 1, January-February 2002), is presented. The discusser comments that he is unfamiliar with the method used by the authors to test their example, and questions whether it conforms to current practice in the eastern U.S. Closure from the authors is also provided.
