INFLUENCE OF AGGREGATE ON COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF NORMAL AND HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
Source abstract
Abstract
A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by F. de Larrard, and A. Belloc, published in this journal (Volume 94, Number 5, September-October 1997), is presented. The discusser classifies the influence of aggregates on compaction and compressive strength under the following three heads: surface properties of aggregates; size, shape, and size distribution of aggregates; and quality and quantity of the binder, namely cement paste. Discussion is followed by closure from the authors.
