Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of In Situ Self-generated VC Reinforced CoCrFeNi High-Entropy Alloy
Source abstract
Abstract
This study analyzed the effect of in situ self-generated VC particles on the microstructure and mechanical properties of CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy. The results show that the interface between the in situ self-generated VC particles and the alloy matrix is clean and well-bonded, and the crystal grains are remarkably refined, which refines the alloy matrix grains to a certain extent. However, the refinement effect gradually weakens with the increase in the VC volume fraction. The in situ self-generated VC particles enhanced the mechanical properties of CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy. With the increase in VC volume fraction, the hardness of the alloy gradually increased, and the yield strength showed a trend of increasing and then decreasing. When the volume fraction of VC is 45%, the hardness value is maximum. When the volume fraction of VC is 15%, the yield strength reaches the maximum, and the comprehensive mechanical properties are optimal.
