Abstract

The purpose of this research is to address the issues of high field nonlinearities in vibration control using APPN (Active-Passive Hybrid Piezoelectric Network). Experimental effort is carried out to quantify the nonlinearities in piezoelectric actuation. Based on the sliding mode theory, a robust controller is developed to compensate for the nonlinearities as uncertainties in the integrated system. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by numerical and experimental analyses.
