A comparative study of copper corrosion inhibition in various industrial environments
Source abstract
Abstract
Prevention of copper corrosion are critical areas of study due to widespread industrial applications. Surface coatings and various types of inhibitor molecules are commonly used to provide a physical protective barrier that copper in corrosive environments. Inhibitors, which are evaluated for their effectiveness, are classified based on their function as anodic or cathodic type. These classifications depend on the active molecules that slow down the corrosion process. The study directs the effectiveness of the different inhibitors. Commonly used organic inhibitors molecules like amines, azoles, and heterocyclic compounds. Additionally, natural extracts and polymers such as polysaccharides, polypyridine, and polyaniline play significant roles in the corrosion inhibitor studies. Recent advancements have introduced new methods for applying inhibitors and innovative investigative techniques. To find the best compound for corrosion resistance, it is essential to determine the highest inhibitor efficiency at its optimal concentration. This review offers important perspectives for future research, promoting the creation of environmentally friendly and develop highly efficient copper corrosion inhibitors.
