Ultrasonic Determination of Bond Strength Due to Surface Preparation Variations in an Aluminum-To-Aluminum Adhesive Bond System
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract This study demonstrates the application and use of analytical models in the experimental ultrasonic evaluation of interface conditions in an Aluminum-FM-47-Aluminum adhesive bond system. The results of the study show that a variation in bond strength due to surface preparation can be detected ultrasonically through careful inspection and signal processing analysis.
