Abstract

Cover Photograph: The importance of superhydrophilicity of glass surfaces lies in their self-cleaning abilities. While this property is generally achieved via surface texturing or chemical modification, the article https://doi.org/10.1111/ijag.16695 shows that flame-impingement is an effective method. The cover shows the schematic representation of the surface structures before and after flame-impingement. The highly reactive repolymerized bridging oxygens act as adsorption sites of water molecules to promote superhydrophilicity.
