Electrical and Mechanical Properties of 5 YSZ Tubular Thin Film Prepared by Screen Printing Method

Mojtaba Ghatee, Farid Salari

Abstract

In this study, 5 mol% yttria‐stabilized zirconia tubular thin film is fabricated by screen printing method. The processing parameters are investigated. The microstructure of the samples is analyzed by X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The electrical conductivity of the samples is studied by impedance spectroscopy. The microhardness, nanohardness, and Young's modulus of the thin films are measured. It is found that the proper weight ratio of zirconia powder to organic constituents of the ink is 3:2. The hardness of tubular thin film is higher than that of the planar specimen. The conductivity of 5 YSZ tubular thin film at 850°C is 0.028 S/cm.
