Abstract

The phase composition of glass-ceramics produced by heat-treating lithium aluminosilicate glass at temperatures from 600 to 1300°C has been determined by x-ray diffraction and electron probe x-ray microanalysis. The materials heat-treated in the range 1000–1230°C have been shown to contain an Si 0.65 Al 0.19 Ti 0.09 Sb 0.013 Na 0.032 K 0.013 Ce 0.008 As 0.013 O 1.864 glass phase and crystalline solid solutions: tetragonal spodumene-like Li 1 − 4 x − 2 y Ti x Zn y AlSi 3 O 8 ( x, y ≤ 0.05), sillimanite-based Al 1.92 Ti 0.08 SiO 5.04 , and rutile-based Ti 0.99 Sb 0.01 O 2.005 . The structures and lattice parameters of the crystalline phases have been determined.
