Abstract

The photo- and cathodoluminescent properties of sol–gel-prepared Tb-activated yttrium orthosilicate were studied. The emission color is shown to be governed by the activator concentration. Under moderate-voltage excitation, the luminous efficiency of the luminophors is 2–3 times as high as that of commercially available analogs.
