Abstract

Abstract Microwave radiation absorption was measured at excitation of the relaxation type in a Jhan-Teller crystal KEr(MoO4)2 at different values of pumping power near the structural phase transition induced by an external magnetic field. The sequence of peculiarities of the threshold character upon the microwave pumping was observed. These features are assumed to be the Hopf bifurcations and they exist due to the appearance of phonon dissipative stuctures. Different mechanisms of transition from regular motion to dynamic chaos are discussed. It is assumed that the evolution of the system is mostly similar to the Ruelle-Takens mechanism.
