Abstract

The mechanical properties of different casts of the steel PH 13-08 Mo are examined as a function of different metallurgical parameters. The predominant role of aluminum content as well as the heat-treatment conditions is highlighted. From a microstructural point of view, the macroscopic properties are governed by the amount of β-NiAl precipitation and the reverted austenite. These parameters are used in order to calculate the yield strength at room temperature of the different alloys of the study. The calculation has been extended to predict the ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT).
