Adhesively active dressing of conventional abrasive and diamond grinding wheels
Source abstract
Abstract
The authors have developed a high-modulus diamond-containing hardmetal composite material, from which diamond dresser pencils are made. The tests have demonstrated that the new pencils outperform the standard ones by a factor of 2.5. Tools for precision dressing of diamond wheels are put forward; a selective fracture of thin surface layers of a diamond grain is studied. It is shown that the diamond wheels, when dressed, provide a better ground surface roughness.
