Two-Dimensional Network Formation in the C60 Malonic Acid Adlayer on Au(111)
Source abstract
Abstract
High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide The adsorption of fullerene malonic acid (C 60 malonic acid) adlayer on a Au(111) was carried out by immersing it in a benzene solution containing C 60 malonic acid molecules, and the adlayer was transferred into vacuum. The adlayer structure was determined to be (3.1 × 3.1)R5° by using scanning tunneling microscopy and low-energy electron diffraction. It is suggested that there is a strong interaction through hydrogen bonding between C 60 malonic acid molecules.
